A-T Debuts New ATH-ANC700BT At CES 2018

Audio-Technica‘s line of noise cancelling headphones has been branded under their QuietPoint moniker. As is always the case at CES, a wide selection of manufacturers use the show to introduce some of their latest products. In the case of Audio-Technica they took to CES 2018 to show off a number of products, one of which are new additions to the QuietPoint line called the ATH-ANC700BT.

The ATH-ANC700BT

The ATH-ANC700BT features Audio-Technica’s proprietary active noise-cancellation technology (as one would expect), but they’ve also thrown in a few more nifty features including Bluetooth 4.1 (AptX and AAC) wireless technology, as well as touch and swipe controls in on of the earcups.

The 40mm drivers used here have a very wide frequency response range, allowing for the reproduction of all frequencies between 5 and 40kHz when used with the included detachable cable. Impedance figures sit at 35-ohm when used without noise-cancellation, and 150-ohm with noise-cancellation active, whilst the sensitivity figures are 95dB/mW and 98db/mW respectively. This means that some portable players may struggle to properly drive the headphones when noise-cancellation is active.

Battery life figures looks pretty impressive, as Audio-Technica states that we can expect up to 25 hours of continuous music playback when both Bluetooth and noise-cancellation is used, 30 hours when only Bluetooth is used, 45 hours when only noise-cancellation is used, and up to a whopping 1000 hours on standby.
A full charge will require around 5 hours once the battery is depleted.

Audio Technica also designed the ATH-ANC700BT with portability in mind, in particular with those who travel a lot. As such, the ATH-ANC700BT has a foldable design, allowing for a more compact footprint when storing or stuffing into a backpack.

 

Pricing

Audio-Technica have hinted that the ATH-ANC700BT should be released to the market in March 2018, and the ATH-ANC700BT site states an MSRP of $199.
