3 new add-on modules for Dolby Atmos

Dolby Atmos, the surround system technology that uses particular placement of speakers together with modified audio to create a “3D” sound experience, is not as widespread as amazing it is and the price of the system setup is one of the main reasons. The price goes in thousands of dollars, but the good news is that Elipson, Tangent, and Eltax all came out with a bit more budget-friendly Atmos modules that you can purchase.

The Dolby Atmos add-ons modules are a perfect solution for all users that are not in a position to drill holes in their ceiling so that they fit in the in-ceiling speaker installations for Atmos. Basically, these add-on modules come on top of floorstander speakers and they are shaped so that they fire sound towards the ceiling and by this, the sound reflects to the listener from above.

Elipson came out with the Prestige Facet 6ATM ATMOS that is set on top of Prestige Facet speakers. Of course, it is angled and it has a 2.5cm soft dome tweeter. Under it, there is a 140mm mid/bass driver which has a bullet-shaped centre phase plug intended to reduce resonance and distortion. To limit the sound diffraction, there is a silicone ring surrounding it. The new add-on module comes in black, white and black-walnut combo colorscheme and you can buy it at Elipson website for $459.9.

It comes only in black color and it is not designed as an add-on to any specific speaker. You can check it out in more details on the Eltax website. The price is the most affordable of the three at around $199.
