Alexa now can play the songs that you like but you can’t remember!!

Sometimes there’s a song in your head, but you can’t remember the name of the song, your options, in this case, are either to forget about the song, to ask your friends who probably don’t care that much about it, or to google the part that you remember and hopefully, you will get to the song. Well, not anymore, now with the new feature from Amazon Alexa. When you’re listening to Amazon Music, you can ask Alexa in very general words to play songs that you haven’t heard lately, and Alexa would get that music for you.

You can ask Alexa to play something for a specific singer, for example, you can ask you Amazon Echo: “Alexa, play some songs for Frank Sinatra that I haven’t heard in a while”. Or “Alexa, play that Amy Winehouse song I was listening to yesterday”. And if you actually don’t know what are you searching for, you can go as far as asking for genres, or even just to ask Alexa to play something you haven’t heard lately without specifying anything.

Amazon has been improving Alexa to make it more useful for listening to music. Last September, Amazon linked Alexa to its music app, and last year it introduced a new feature for Alexa, and that is to find music to match various activities. Like pop music for cooking, indie music for chilling with friends, house relaxing music or classical music for sleeping. Last month, users of Prime Music and Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers have the ability to tell Alexa to add songs to a playlist or even to create a new one.

The new feature still didn’t spread globally, it is available for Prime users and Amazon music subscribers in both the US and the UK.
