While TCL brought several new, more basic soundbars, Sennheiser has used CES 2019 to announce its newest AMBEO soundbar that uses unique 3D technology and brings immersive 5.1.4 sound. With as low frequency as 30hz, this soundbar delivers deep bass even without additional subwoofers or amplifiers.
A feature that makes AMBEO as good as described is the use of automatic room calibration system which adjusts the sound based on the size and shape of the room and the viewer’s position in order to deliver more realistic and immersive sound. The visualization technology used is the result of a partnership with Fraunhofer IIS which, in combination with the 13 drivers, creates a feeling like you are in the movie, concert of a football game.
AMBEO soundbar is compatible with Dolby Atmos, MPEG-H and DTS:X. With a built-in Google Chromecast, Bluetooth and HDMI eARC/CEC, there is a variety of sources that can be used and using the app, additional controls and customizations can be made. With 5 presets including movie, music, sport, news and neutral, sound frequency and 3D characteristics are adjusted based on the content played in order to bring out the best of AMBEO soundbar audio features.
Available only from May 2019, Sennheiser AMBEO soundbar will be sold for $3000. Even though it already offers so many features, Sennheiser will keep delivering any updates and perhaps new features using WiFi and Sennheiser Smart Control.
