Apple AirPods 2 are finally available after 3 years

Among several announcements already made this week, Apple has finally announced the long anticipated second version of its wireless earbuds. Apple AirPods 2 were a part of several surprises made by the tech giant just several days prior to its scheduled press release at the beginning of the next week when Apple is expected to announce its new streaming service. AirPods 2 will come in two options and with a couple of improved features from its famous predecessor.

The new AirPods support a new H1 chip that will improve battery life according to Apple. The new H1 chip will increase talk time by 50 percent, gives better mic clarity and reduce connection time when switching between devices by 50 percent, as well as adding the support of “Hey, Siri” trigger word, which will allow you to ask Siri question without the need to press anything. The new AirPods also support Bluetooth 5.

Although the new charging case looks almost exactly the same as the original pair. The only difference when it comes to the charging case is that the new one works with Qi charging, meaning that it will work with any wireless charger, as well as a small LED light to indicate battery life.

Apple’s AirPods 2 are already available on Apple’s website in two options, $199 for pair alongside a wireless charging case or $159 for a pair with a standard case found in the previous generation as well. In case you like to be unique, then you can ask for a small sentence to be engraved on your new charging case to differentiate from the others.  For those who own the original version of AirPods, wireless charging case will be available for $79.
