Asus is adding Amazon Alexa to its Lyra Voice mesh router

Those who have been following the news lately probably know that Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2019, is starting on 8th January and many of the big names in the industry are already announcing their newest products. Asus, on the other hand, announced an update to its mesh router. This means that Lyra Voice mesh router is getting a speaker and voice control powered by Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa.

With the new features added to Lyra Voice, Asus is working on standing out from the crowd of regular routers. Through Amazon Alexa, owners are able to control the music or smart devices all around the house that are already connected to the improved wireless internet provided by Lyra Voice router. Going furthermore, Asus’ router will feature free AiProtection Pro from Trend Micro meaning all connected devices, including IoT appliances, should be safe from network threats.

Using the Internet and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as the Spotify Connect support, users are able to choose their preferred music source option, while the stereo speakers of Lyra Voice router will provide them with rich and powerful stereo sound. Moreover, the two stereo speakers come with DTS surround sound technology, as well as two microphones that have a 360-degree far-field detection making Alexa accessible even from further parts of the home.

The new Lyra Voice mesh router with Alexa integration will be priced at $219.99.
