Beyerdynamic Introduces Amiron Wireless at CES 2018

Beyerdynamic is one of those headphone manufacturers that everyone in the audiophile world knows all too well. They’ve produced many great products under the “DT” line of headphones, and this year at CES 2018 they lifted the veil on the Amiron Wireless.

The Amiron Wireless

Based on the Amiron Home, the Amiron Wireless seems to be, well, the wireless version of it. This is rather interesting, as it means that the Amiron Wireless would likely feature Beyerdynamic’s cutting edge Tesla technology.

Beyerdynamic did not include any sort of noise cancellation (in case you were wondering), which would mean an unadulterated playback of the music, along with a longer battery life. Speaking of battery life, this seems to be somewhere around 30 hours or so, but the included cable does mean that the Amiron Wireless can be used in wired mode too should the battery become depleted.
Charging is done via a USB-C port, which is something we haven’t really seen on other headphones thus far. In fact, many audio-related manufacturers seem to be quite shy in implementing the new USB-C ports for whatever reason. Quick charging is also included.

Wireless transmission is done over Bluetooth 4.2, which also includes AptX HD. This is a phenomenal inclusion, as it should push the fidelity of the wireless stream that bit closer to perfection.
Software-wise the Amiron Wireless can be connected to the same Make It Yours (MIY) app (available for iOS and Android) as the Aventho Wireless.

Pricing

Whilst the Amiron Home has a price of $600, pricing for the Amiron Wireless has not yet been confirmed. Instead, Beyerdynamic’s reps at CES 2018 stated that it should cost anywhere between $500 and $1000. That’s quite a large gap, so we’ll just have to wait an see when Beyerdynamic eventually releases the product into the market.
