Bixby Will Soon Join The Battle To Conquer Your Living Room

Last August, Samsung announced that Bixby, its digital smart assistance, is coming to a new smart assistance, which is under Samsung’s development. By the end of the same year, many rumors said that sometime in the first half of 2018, consumers will be able to buy Samsung’s Bixby smart speaker for about $200.

Away from rumors and the last year brief announcement, Samsung finally confirmed during its Galaxy S9, S9+ event in MWC 2018, that its new smart speaker powered by Bixby is real and that it will hit the markets soon, but not soon as the first half of 2018.

According to The Wall Street Journal interview with the president of Samsung’s mobile division, DJ Koh, the long-awaited Bixby smart speaker will be available to purchase sometime in the second half of this year.

During the interview, Koh told WSJ that Samsung is focusing on developing a smart speaker that combining unique specifications and outstanding design. He concluded by saying, Samsung wants something more premium.

Until this moment, information about Bixby smart speaker is not enough at all. We don’t know anything about its design or the things and tasks that it will be able to do. But on the other hand, many reports presumed that Samsung speaker will be a part of its smart home system, SmartThings, and that it might be the system’s central hub, besides doing the usual features that other smart speakers can do.

So, this year is going to witness the coming of Samsung’s Bixby to the smart speaker’s battle, which already became hotter after the announcement of Apple’s HomePod. And now Bixby will join Siri in the great battle that’s already going between the grand giants, Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant.
