BlackBerry is BACK again with a physical keyboard smartphone

TCL, the company behind BlackBerry phones announced its new flagship phone the BlackBerry Key 1, featuring a weird enough physical keyboard that is, in fact, more than just that.

The keyboard will have many interesting features like shortcut assignments – this means 52 shortcuts assigned for long-presses or short presses. It will also support gestures for scrolling and writing. The design is said to help provide a larger reading screen as the keyboard is minimal and short height.

And it isn’t just for the keyboard this time, BlackBerry actually added some interesting features to the phone, like the battery that has a capacity of 3505mAh – which is larger than most phones these days. They didn’t stop here either, this device comes with a “boosted charge” mode, which allows the device to fast charge a full battery in just about 40 minutes.

This device will also come with the BlackBerry Hub app, which allows you to access all you instant messaging accounts from one place. The security part is also a thing that BlackBerry is interested in, so they implemented their new DTEK application that gives detailed numbers about your devices’ security status.

The CPU used in this phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 which provides twice the performance and power saving, better charging time, better internet speed and multitasking support.

The phone will be available in April for about 600$ – you can pre-order the device from the new BlackBerry website. It will also have all the future announcements that BlackBerry has.
