Denon DJ introduces new Media Player, DJ Software, Club Mixer and more

With what seems as an intention to knock Pioneer out of the DJ crown, Denon DJ has announced a new series of products that could turn the table to their side.

After showing off its new kit a few months ago, Denon DJ announced the new kit with four new products: the Denon DJ SC5000 Prime Media Player, Engine Prime Audio File Analysis Software, X1800 Prime Club Mixer and VL12 Prime Turntable.

This media player is the first of its kind to be able to analyze beatgrid and musical key, all on board. With this at hand you won’t need to run tracks through a standalone music management ever again.

And it’s the first in the world to use the Engine Prime software, which is simply an innovative music library and analysis system that lets DJs organise, categorise and import music, either directly from services like iTunes or Serato DJ, or from currently existing folders.

The Engine Prime version used is customized especially for use with the new media player and channel mixer in this kit, all connectable using LAN network. This Engine takes Pioneers DJ’s rekordbox head on with its advanced features.

The X1800 is a four-channel club mixer with dual USB audio connections and Denon DJ’s new exclusive; the Sweep FX knobs, giving the ability to apply effects to each channel.

The mixer also works perfectly with the SC5000 via the connect protocol, it also shares the beatgrid and time information form the player, setting the FX LFOs aligned.

This mixer takes Pioneer DJM900 Nexus 2 mixer directly, and they are both almost equally good.

Other thing that makes this kit officially in a race with the Pioneer DJ units is that the layout of both the mixer and the media player are similar to the ones in Pioneer DJ’s units. Making the switching process easier for DJ’s.

The VL12 Prime Turntable is a great powerful deck fitting in with the other parts of the kit.
