LG Tv 2017 to support Dolby TrueHD in a new firmware update

LG has announced a new update that adds a Dolby TrueHD lossless sound to the 2017 LG TV OLED Collection . delivers 8-channel audio with up to 24-bit / 96kHz high-quality simulates home theater experience through your TV.

LG UltraHDTV was the first to also receive Dolby Atmos Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos support, which brings surround sound tp TV’s stereo speakers works on two channels. Now, TrueHD supports coming to all LG OLED TV model in an upcoming release. let’ s know more about this new features.

What is Dolby TrueHD ?

Dolby TrueHD is a surround sound codec that supports Lossless Sound at 24bit / 96kHz Rate when playing an 8-channel audio system while delivering 24bit / 192kHz sound quality when operating a 6-channel system. These specifications are typically found with Ultra HD Blu-ray players, To support TrueHD content playback.

While TrueHD support on LG TV’s means that tv’s built-in speakers can play TrueHD  content, already there many movies support TrueHD with surround sound effects without the need for an audio amplifier, allowing you to experience a home theater without additional equipment. Dolby update contains a MAT codec (Metadata Enhanced Audio Transmission), which enables any compatible tv to stream Dolby TrueHD content on console games.

The new update available via ota update from your lg tv’s setting while all lg oled tv line up support Dolby AC-4 decoding, that’s mean it support immersive three-dimensional audio technology.
