ELAC has introduced the latest version of its Debut speaker line, the ELAC Debut 2.0, in nine different categories: two Floorstanding speakers, two bookshelf speakers, two center channels, an Atmos version, a wall-mounted version and a 10-inch subwoofer with a capacity of 400 watts.

Not long after launching the ELAC Uni-fi UB5, as well as the Argo B51 speakers launched at the CES 2018, the company announced its new line of speakers, Debut’s second version, Debut 2, Which is the evolution of the production line of the original Debut speakers with new technologies and materials.

The first version of the Debut line-up was designed by Andrew Jones, the speaker architect, and was his first project at ELAC, however his first ever venture was with Pioneer, and he was highly praised in both projects.

Debut 2.0 is, according to what has been circulated, a better version than its predecessor, which has already received a lot of positive reviews, in terms of dimensions and finish, which at first glance looks like a soft candy.

The new speakers within the new Debut line feature a silky dome with”wide-roll surround” for a frequency response up to ​​35,000 Hz. In addition, it contains fiber glass with improved hardness and stiffness.

For prices it has increased almost $20 per pair from the previous line ELAC Debut, which is not much in return for the many improvements in this release.

The company announced the prices for the nine types of the new Debut speakers line-up:

  • 2 Debut 2.0: 5.25-inch, two-way bookshelf speakers, $250 a pair
  • 2 Debut 2.0: 6.5-inch, two-way bookshelf speakers, $300 a pair
  • 2 Debut 2.0: 5.25-inch, two-way center speaker, $200 each
  • 2 Debut 2.0: 6.5-inch, two-way center speaker, $280 each
  • 2 Debut 2.0: 3x 5.25-inch, three-way Floorstanding speaker, $600 a pair
  • 2 Debut 2.0: 3x 6.5-inch, three-way Floorstanding speaker, $800 a pair
  • 2 Debut 2.0: 4-inch, concentric Dolby Atmos add-on speaker, $250 a pair
  • 2 Debut 2.0: 4-inch, two-way on-wall speakers, $250 a pair
  • SUB3010 Debut 2.0: 10-inch, 400-watt powered subwoofer with AutoEQ, $450 each

Debut 2 will be available on March 15th in the US and will be available online in the UK and Australia in May or June with prices to be announced later.
