Expedia Testing VR Booking technology – a virtual tour inside your hotel room

Booking a hotel room in another country without seeing it and relying only on the reputation of the hotel is not enough to some, especially those who prefer to get some additional features and Expedia intends to adopt a new booking solution before booking a hotel room.

Expedia is now testing VR Booking , a virtual reality technology, giving you a tour within any hotel room you will book and any aircraft or cruise available through the company’s services.

“It will be great in the future,” said Arthur Chappen, vice president, Product and Design, during the virtual reality demo in singapore testing VR Booking Tour.

You’ll see all the details 360 degrees in the hotel room before you book and pay the money. But to make it more fun, you can interact with VR rooms and do things like open doors, move things and walk around the rooms and go to balcony!

Chapen said the company plans to include a voice service such as Amazon’s Alexa or Google Assistant and the team is considering how to take advantage of these techniques in hotel reservations and travel booking.

Voice commands & chatbots  is being on test to answer customer inquiries and satisfy their needs. These services will be available to both users and partners, noting that the company has invested $ 1 billion into these new technologies.

Another tech that is tested is “EMG machines” that can capture user feedback when they browse any part of the website, EMG analysis facial muscles and expressions to deliver more user-friendly related content.
