FiiO Unveils FB1 Bluetooth Earphones

Whilst FiiO has been around for roughly 11 years or so, it’s only relatively recently that they started to offer earphones to the market. Looking back at their first earphone, the EX1, which they introduced into the market 3 years ago, the company sure has come a long way. No longer are they selling what are essentially re-branded earphones, but indeed products that are designed and developed entirely by FiiO. Their latest earphone comes in the form of the FB1 which is FiiO’s very first wireless earphones.

What’s the FB1 All About?

FiiO really have been stepping up their designs lately. They no longer produce generic-looking products, and instead have incorporated modern and minimalist design elements really well in practically all of their most recent products. However, whilst the FB1 might look like something totally new for FiiO, the design of the housing looks exceptionally similar to that of the Devialet Phantom speaker.

But, even if it’s not a unique design, it’s still an attractive design nonetheless.
Under the hood we get a 13mm driver which FiiO claims has been “specifically tuned for popular music so that you get those sweet highs and awesome bass in an expansive soundstage”. Basically, that’s just “marketing talk” to say that it has a v-shaped frequency response.

The inclusion of both AptX and AAC should ensure that both Android and iOS users are getting the best connection for their respective platforms. Although, it is a bit of a shame to not see AptX HD included as well.

What’s particularly interesting is that the FB1 can be connected to 2 devices at the same time, negating the need to re-pair it between devices.
The 110mAh built-in battery isn’t particularly big, but still has the ability to power the FB1 for up to 8 hours of continuous music playback, or up to 200 hours of standby time.

Availabiility

Exactly when the FB1 will hit international markets still seems a bit unclear, but it has been indicated that it’s situated at around the $40 price-mark.
