Google along with Google Home Mini and Google Home Max speakers as well as Pixel 2 phones announced a new headphone that competes with Apple AirPods with the name of Pixel Buds.
Specifications for Pixel Buds
- Smart headphones.
- Supported by Google Assistant.
- Real-time translation with 40 languages.
- Battery lasts for five hours.
- A 24-hour charging case inside.
- Support for Android and iOS systems.
- Available in November.
Google followed Apple’s policy to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack, followed by the announcement of new Buds named Pixel Buds with support from Google Assistant and features competing with the Apple product.
The most important feature of the new buds is their ability to real-time translate through Google Assistant to speak 40 different languages through it. This was experienced during the conference when an English speaking person spoke to a person who spoke Swedish in their own native language and communicated through the new speakers.
With these speakers you will not need to press a button to activate the personal assistant such as the Bose QC 35 II headphones. All you need to is to swipe on the buds’ body that is wrapped in a fabric like Google Home speakers, with almost the same functions as Google headphones Home.
The headset assistant will be able to read notifications and messages on your behalf, making the headphones suitable for sporting use.
Unlike the Apple AirPods, the Pixel Buds are connected to each other with a cord, with the ability to connect to your phone via Bluetooth wirelessly on Android 5.0 Lollipop phones or newer, and compatible with iOS 10 and higher.
Black, white and blue Pixel Buds will be available in November at $159 and are available for pre-order through the Google Store.
