GW100 headphones: Grado’s first ever wireless headphones

As a milestone after 65 years of success and almost 30 of headphones design, Grado Labs has released their first ever wireless Bluetooth GW100 headphones. With a design that follows Grado’s signature, they fit almost seamlessly with the other products the company offers. The sound quality is everything we’re used to from Grado.

What gives the exceptional sound quality to the GW100 headphones, despite being wireless, is the use of the companies signature drivers similar to what is present in their lineup of wired headphones. Of course, they are finely adjusted for the new device to sound just right with no loss of quality. The headphones have an open-back design but with the addition of reduced noise bleed of up to 60%, allowing you to keep in touch with your surrounding sounds while simultaneously keeping your music more isolated for others around you.

The GW100 require Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity and have a working range of up to 10 meters distance from the music source. When it comes to codecs support, you can count on apt-X as well as AAC, but not apt-X HD and LDAC. Battery life is also respectable at 15 hours of playback time, depending on the volume and music genre you are playing. In case they run out of battery but you still need to use them, there is the 3.5mm jack that you can plug in the headphone.

The GW100 are available now on the Grado Labs’ website for $249. There are no color options besides Grado’s signature black housing. But what you can choose is to add a hardshell case or a Mahogany storage box for your pair of headphones. In addition to this, there is also 5 wood type options if you prefer to buy a stand for them, including Cherry, Maple, Walnut, Zebrano and Makassar.
