JBL Link Bar, an Android TV soundbar that's available now

After all the big announcement that we heard about from Google in the 2018 I/O conference, we started seeing the results of those announcements, and many other new things from Google throughout the year, and as the year is not over yet, Google is not done yet, and a new third-party smart soundbar is available to pre-order and it will ship for you as soon as mid October. Yes, we are talking about the new JBL Link Bar, a new soundbar from JBL that is supported with built-in Android TV, as well as Google Assistant.

We first heard about the JBL Link Bar back in May when it first showed up during the Google I/O conference, and it was such a promising product, offering you Android TV as a solution for which set-top box should you buy. The new soundbar also comes with the support of Google Assistant with an always listening feature. With those two important software products from Google being in the same soundbar, you can either use it as your smart home speaker for a full Google Home experience or enjoy it as your TV speaker.

Unfortunately, the new soundbar doesn’t come a wireless subwoofer, but to solve this problem you buy any JBL wireless subwoofer and link it to the JBL Link Bar, as the new soundbar is compatible with all the JBL add-ons. Further on, the JBL Link Bar has four HDMI ports, a built-in Chromecast which is another Google service you get it in the same product, built-in Bluetooth, WiFi, and Ethernet.

The price tag of the new JBL Link Bar will be at $399 which puts it at the end of the price range for many other soundbars and smart speaker, especially that it comes with the same price of the Google Home Max but offering many other things. Of course, we have to see it in action before judging it, but if you are a Google fan investing in Google ecosystem, then it might be one of the best choices in the market.
