KitchenAid Smart Display will have IPX5 water resistance

CES 2019 is expected to feature many new Google Assistant products and among them is a new Smart Display by KitchenAid. Even though the smart displays released last year can be used in the kitchen as help with following recipes as well, KitchenAid Smart Display has better-optimized hardware for such space as it is designed by a home appliance brand.

The most prominent feature of this smart display is the water resistance. With IPX5 rating, it is safe from damage if something gets spilled on it or it is touched by wet hands, making it very convenient to use during the process of preparing a meal. Of course, it also supports standard Google Assistant commands including control of other compatible smart home devices. Food app Yummly will provide additional recipes besides the ones given by Google Search.

Talking about the display, the screen of KitchenAid Smart Display is going to be 10 inches, with a black bezel around the display. The housing is completely white besides the small black and red tag on the side with the logo. Control buttons for volume and mute are on the top edge, while the speaker grills are underneath.

KitchenAid Smart Display will be released for sale in the second half of 2019. The price is expected to be between $200 and $300 but will be officially announced with the release later on.
