LG XBoom WK9, A New Smart Display with Google Assistant

Throughout this year, we have seen a lot of improvements in the field of smart assistants. From all the updates and features that came to many smart assistants like the Amazon Echo and the Google Home, to new devices like the Google Home Hub, and Amazon Echo Show. The year is not over yet and LG is entering the race of smart home devices by introducing the new LG XBoom WK9, a new Google Assistant smart display that will be competing with Google Home Hub, and the Lenovo Smart Display.

LG XBoom WK9 is a smart display with an 8-inch HD touchscreen, front-facing camera for video calls, and of course with the power of Google Assistant. The new device work just like any other Google Assistant smart display. Google Chromecast is also built in alongside Google Assistant, and of course LG ThinQ control.

What’s special about the LG XBoom WK9 is the sound quality. Usually, smart displays don’t have the best sound quality, they focus more on the screen and the smart assistant. The difference here is that LG has partnered with Meridian Audio in order to bring the best sound quality. So you can depend on the LG XBoom WK9 as your music player, without the need to connect it with another wireless speaker.

“Our partnerships with Google and Meridian Audio allow us to offer a new home entertainment experience with the smart capabilities of the Google Assistant and the premium audio know-how that only Meridian could deliver,” said LG’s Seo Young-Jae, “Unlike other AI speakers where sound quality takes a back seat, the WK9 is first and foremost a high fidelity audio product that also happens to be intelligent.” he continues.

The new smart speaker is already available on LG official website. The suggested price is $299, but they are offering a promotion price right now for $199.
