LG announces its improved Cinebeam 4K laser projector

After releasing the first CineBeam 4K laser projector at last year’s CES, LG is back again with the new improved second-gen CineBeam with the best feature being its ultra-short throw technology, which will allow the device to project the image from within 2 inches of the wall. The new projector will debut at CES 2019.

The biggest change from the previous model is the design, which now consists of a more traditional rectangular box rather than the tall black boxy design of its predecessor. This way it’ll fit right into your living room, without standing out. With the new Ultra Short Throw technology, the device can project a 90-inch screen from two inches away from the wall, with the ability to increase the screen size to 120-inches from seven inches away.

While we will have to wait for CES 2019 to get the full specs, aside from the 4K Ultra HD resolution, LG promises 2500 ANSI lumens of brightness, a USB, Ethernet and HDMI ports for connectivity. Users will also be able to use LG’s ThinQ voice command system. The new CineBeam will also support various of built-in streaming services.

The price of the new device is still unavailable. However, it will most probably be announced when device is unveiled at CES 2019.
