Long-awaited Marantz AirPlay 2 compatible receivers are here

Ever since Apple launched its new multi-room system, we have been expecting to see the mentioned receivers by Marantz that will support the new Apple AirPlay 2. And finally, Marantz AirPlay 2 compatible receivers are here. The SR5013, SR6013 and SR7013 Marantz receivers are added to the SRx013 range of receivers and they have a lot to offer, besides the multi-room system compatibility.

Marantz has announced also the firmware update for summer 2018, that will include unlocking of the HDMI 2.1 specification featuring eARC and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) which is intended to help gamers by reducing the lag time, all of this besides the expected AirPlay 2 compatibility. The reason last feature is so important for the users is that AirPlay is one of the rare multi-room systems that work with combination of brands rather than just one brand of audio devices, meaning that with Marantz AirPlay 2 compatible receivers can easily be added to your system and work quite well no matter what other brands are.

Out of the three new receivers, Marantz SR5013 is the simplest but still has a lot to offer. Besides the already mentioned AirPlay 2 compatibility, as it works using WiFi, it also features Bluetooth connectivity. It can even work with Amazon Alexa as long as you have Amazon Echo also connected to your system. The Marantz SR5013 has the brands HDAM circuit boards, as well as 7.2 channel discrete power amplifier at 100W per channel. Besides this, you can find the 8 HDMI inputs at the back that support 4K/60Hz video, making it compatible with Dolby Vision, HLG, and HDR.

Second, of the Marantz AirPlay 2 compatible receivers is the Marantz SR6013. It has the basic features similar to the previous one but upgraded to 9.2 channels with 110W of power. Besides this, it has an additional Marantz HDAM circuit and 3 more HDMI outputs on the back. The strongest model of the three, Marantz SR7013 has several additional features such as more power with 125W, and Hybrid PPL Clock Jitter Reducer added. All three receivers have access to almost unlimited online music sources, and you can even connect them to a turntable using the phono input.

The first two out of Marantz AirPlay 2 compatible receivers are available from August this year, SR5013 at $999, while the SR6013 is sold at $1,499. A month after awaits the release of the most upgraded of the three models, the Marantz SR7013 which is priced at $2,199.
