McIntosh has announced its newest MTI100 turntable
McIntosh has released their latest product, the MTI100 integrated turntable that is described as “one-of-a-kind product” intended for users who cannot place the full audio system in their living room but still want the flexible home audio system. The new MTI100 turntable can serve as the centerpiece of the whole system in combination with a few side speakers, offering everything you could possibly need.
Components of the new McIntosh turntable include a power amplifier, vacuum tube preamplifier section and shielded phono preamplifier. On top of all of this, there is an auxiliary input as well as stereo speaker outputs and even a headphone jack for personal listening. Different external sources, from TV to CD player, can be connected. McIntosh designed the MTI100 turntable to play both 33-⅓ and 45rpm vinyl records, but also added streaming option using Bluetooth 4.2.
Speaking of performance, the connected speakers can be driven by Class D amplifier with 80 Watts per channel in 4 Ohms, or 50 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms. The phono preamplifier is separated in the chassis so that it brings out the best in any record played without noise interfering with the vinyl signal. The speed of the belt drive can be manually adjusted and in combination with a motor with 2 speed pulleys, the rotational speed is precise in delivering accurate playback.
The design of MTI100 integrated turntable resembles other McIntosh products with a simple black design and illuminated bright green logo on the top glass panel, next to which are two control knobs for volume and input selection. The remote controller can be used instead as well. Components such as the platter and tonearm are made out of aluminum, as well as the name badge on the side of the unit.
