McIntosh released a new SACD/CD player and a music streamer

McIntosh, the famous American manufacturer that sells hand-crafted high-end audio equipment such as speakers, amplifiers etc., recently came out with few more items in addition to their already wide variety of products. The new additions are the MCD600 SACD/CD player and MS500 music streamer.

MCD600 SACD/CD player

The new SACD/CD player by McIntosh, MCD600, has a new premium 8-channel digital-to-analog converter with 32-bit PCM/DSD input. Because there are 4 of these converters on both left and right audio channels, the sounds are extraordinary. The MCD600 can play music from SACDs, CDs, user-generated DVDs as well as USB flash drives so it won’t be inconvenient for you to use it. The device has a front USB port so you can connect your USB flash drive to the device easily. Besides this, you can play many different file formats such as AAC, AIFF, ALAX, DSD (but only up to DSD128), FLAC, WMA, WAV (only up to 24-bit/192kHz), and of course, MP3.

The MCD600 has fixed and variable both balanced and unbalanced outputs. You can use the variable outputs and together with volume control directly connect your device to an amplifier without a need for a preamplifier. The device also includes the coax and optical digital outputs for external analog conversion. You can also use the High Drive headphone amplifier section to connect almost all headphone types.

The device has a twin laser optical pickup so reading of any common disc types, that is SACD, CD, CD-R/RW, and DVD-R, won’t be a problem. MCD600 reads all audio data twice ensuring you that the disc tracking and processing of error corrections will be better. Playing of the discs is smooth and quiet as the tray is precisely made out of die-cast aluminum. Furthermore, you can connect the MCD600 SACD/CD player with other components by McIntosh.

MS500 Music Streamer

The new McIntosh MS500 Music Streamer combines the internet based streaming music together with digital music that is locally stored on the device while still being pretty simple to use and all of this with the high audio standards McIntosh provides in its products.

The device has a high-speed network port that you can use for streaming from services like Spotify, Deezer, Pandora, Rhapsody, Slacker, TIDAL, TuneIn, Murfie and SiriusXM, but the list can be changed in the future. Besides the streaming, MS500 Music Streamer has the option for you to add radio stations from the Internet as presets, as well as connecting external storage and USB flash drives through the 3 USB ports on the device.

The way the McIntosh designed the MS500 Music Streamer is for it to be ultra-quiet. They achieved this by storing all locally stored music as well as the streamers OS on an SSD that does not have any moving parts, as well as having a fanless processor that has good ventilation so there are also no parts to disrupt you while you listen to your favorite music.

You can have a backup of all the content on Google Drive, Amazon Cloud Drive or, for Apple users, iCloud, so if you move the device around, you will not lose your music. The MS500 also has both analog and digital outputs which you can use to connect it to preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, and any other audio component. You can manage your MS500 music streamer either through its remote control, or use a web browser on your computer and app for Apple and Android devices. We cannot skip to say that it is compatible with the most popular home automation system. With all of this mentioned, the MS500 music streamer can easily be a central hub for your digital music.

Both MC600 and MS500 are already available on the McIntosh website and even though you cannot order the products online, they conveniently help you to find the closest local seller to you.
