Microsoft announces a new Surface Pro 6 in matte black

In its latest event in New York City, Microsoft announced four new products that included the all new Surface Pro 6. The Surface pro lineup has been waiting for an update for almost a year now. Similar to what we’re used to so far with the Surface Pro lineup in terms of design but has internal updates. These include a new updated Intel 8th Gen processor and a matte black finish.

Aside from the matte black finish that covers the device from all sides, not much has changed with the design of the Surface Pro. Weighing a mere 1.7 pounds, the familiar 12.3-inch display returns with the same ports on the sides, which include a full sized USB port (no USB-C yet), a Mini Displayport for monitor connectivity and the usual surface power connector.

Thanks to a new cooling system, the Surface Pro now supports quad core processors, with the addition of the quad-core Intel Core i5 processor inside and a 16GB RAM, which should make the laptop-tablet hybrid much faster and will also help with battery efficiency. Microsoft claims that the Surface Pro 6 will last 13.5 hours on a single charge.

The Surface Pro 6 will be available on October 16th starting at $899.
