Mobvoi TicWatch C2 smartwatch runs on Google Wear OS

The American AI company Mobvoi is famous for its smart speaker and smartwatches as well as the TicPods Free, wireless earbuds released in the summer of 2018. The company is now releasing their newest addition to the smartwatch line, TicWatch C2 which will run on Google’s Wear OS platform.

Google Play brings over 1000 watch faces to Mobvoi’s smartwatch that can be interchanged to fit the user’s needs. It is compatible with dozens of apps from Play Store that make everyday life simpler and provides Google Assistant help with any task or request.

As it is intended to be worn all day, the smartwatch must withstand any weather conditions so TicWatch has IP68 water and dust resistance rating, allowing it to be taken anywhere, from a walk in the rain to running. Another characteristic useful for everyday life is compatibility with Google Pay that allows payments through NFC, taking away from relying on having a phone or wallet with you at all times.

It has a built-in GPS that can be used for trips and directions. Besides this, with Google Fit compatibility, it can track the steps if taken on a run and update on distance passed, as well as use heart rate sensor to update on physical condition during the exercise.

When it comes to the design of the new Mobvoi smartwatch, the case is made out of stainless steel combined with a genuine leather strap. Even though the design looks like a classic watch design, it holds many useful features to improve everyday life. The new TicWatch C2 comes in three colorways for the case and strap: Onyx, Platinum and Rose Gold, but they can be easily swapped.

Even though it runs on Google’s platform, the Ticwatch C2 is compatible with both iPhones and Android devices. It works with Bluetooth 4.1 as well as WiFi. Battery usage depends on the use but even in a situation of heavy usage, it can last at least a day, or up to two days with more light usage.

The TicWatch C2 is already on sale on Mobvoi website for $199.99, but if you hurry you might catch it for 10% off as launch celebration.
