Muse Auto device brings Alexa to your car’s dashboard

Most people spend a lot of time in the car on daily basis and, especially if you are travelling alone, it can get a bit boring. At the same time, multitasking and using your smartphone to finish some tasks, play music or take calls might not be the safest for you which creates the need for a car assistant. Muse Auto is exactly that, a voice assistant for your car that uses Alexa to help you on your trip and give you control without compromising your safety.

Talking about the services you can get with Muse Auto, it will use the apps from your smartphone such as notes, calendar, navigation, etc. It uses data plan from your smartphone and it is necessary for the device. When it comes to music playing, radio and podcasts, it uses free music streaming services such as iHeartRadio and TuneIn and it doesn’t require a paid music subscription but if you prefer, you can have music on demand with a small upgrade to Amazon Music. Spotify and Pandora are currently not supported but are announced as future free updates to the device.

When it comes to the design, Muse Auto is pretty small so it won’t take up much space in the car. It has an auxiliary audio output on the back, and also LED-status light on the front side of the device. Out of the few buttons it has, one is a hardware-level mute button which you can activate to stop all audio going into the device if you need privacy. It has a microphone with noise cancelling features so you will be able to talk over the phone without the outside noise getting in the way of clear conversation. It uses car’s stereo system for the audio so you will be able to hear it well, as well as you passengers.

All you would need for a car setup of Muse Auto is the device itself, a USB car charger and the mounting kit with a necessary cable to connect the device with your car, and the Muse Auto comes with all of these items in the packaging. The magnetic mount can be set up at any place on the dashboard you find convenient and as it is magnetic, you can move it around. Furthermore, you get a dual usb car charger so you can charge your smartphone while using Muse Auto device at the same time.

In order to use the Muse Auto in your car, all you have to do is plug it in your car and then pair it using Bluetooth with your smartphone and you get Alexa at your service. You can play music, listen to news or audiobooks, but also other different tasks you can ask from Alexa and Amazon Echo such as adding to to-do lists or turning off lights at home if you forgot before leaving, and you don’t even have to unlock your phone.

The Muse Auto is compatible with most smartphones as long as they have operating system at least iOS10 or Android 6, but due to high demand, this might be changed in the soon future and increase number of compatible devices.

The price of the Muse Auto device is currently $70 on sales from the original $80 on the crowdfunding website Indiegogo.com. Unfortunately, the shipping is not available all around the world but they are active on adding more and more available shipping destinations to their list.
