Netflix announces new pricing from November

Bad news for the fans of the most popular Internet TV service provider around the world Netflix as it has recently announced another raise in its pricing.

Netflix raises subscription prices again

Mashable has reported that Netflix will raise its subscription prices in the United States starting from November the next to become:

  • Subscription of the Standard Plan -which enables its subscribers to watch on two different screens with HD- will be $10.99 instead of $9.99.
  • Subscription of the Premium Plan -that enables its subscribers to watch 4K HDR on four separate screens at the same time- will be $13.99 instead of $11.99.
  • Subscription of the Basic plan -which provides its subscribers with SD-quality viewing on a single screen- will not be affected and will remain at $ 7.99 a month.
Netflix old plans pricing.

This is not the first change in subscription prices for Netflix. Over the its history there has been an increase in 2015 when the Standard Plan subscription price increased to $ 9.99 instead of $ 7.99.

Personally, I do not blame the company for raising the price of subscriptions, which is a small percentage when we talk about a monthly subscription for its subscribers from the United States, because it plans to pump up to seven billion dollars in the manufacture of its original series and shows in 2018.

Although they have noticed a slow rate of subscribers growing rate, but they did not stop investing in their own projects, such as the second season of Stranger Things.

The company commented:

From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster.

The company added that it is trying through this price increase to push more content providers to allow the company and its customers to be able to see the shows without the need for continuous Internet connection.

Existing subscribers will be officially notified by messages or by notifications in the service of the increase on October 19th so that they can know the increase before renewing their subscription to the new rates and withdrawing the extra dollars from their credit cards without their knowledge.

The number of subscribers has now reached more than 100 million subscribers, which confirms the strength of service and superior to competing services such as Icflix, IFLIX and others.
