New Bose smart speaker and soundbars will have Alexa

Everyone who ever bought or even considered buying themselves a speaker came across Bose, one of the leading brands on the market. Similar to other brands such as Sonos, they are following the trend of adding voice assistants to their speakers and converting them into smart speakers. Most recent models already have integrated Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa, and so will the new Bose smart speaker and soundbars: Home Speaker 500 and Soundbar 500 and 700.

Besides having Alexa integrated into the new Bose smart speaker and soundbars, these products will also feature Bose microphone technology, that is already present in their headphones, which will allow you to communicate with your voice assistant even over loud music. Since they are operating over both Bluetooth and WiFi, you can put them in separate rooms and, besides being able to play different music on each, you will be able to play music at the same time in sync.

The Home Speaker 500 can provide you with a stereo sound even with just one device due to specific drivers positioning that sends sound to opposite directions in the room. You can control it using voice or the app, but also change up the music on the device itself, and even set up to 6 of your favorite playlists or radio stations. Its price will be $400.

The other two new smart devices, Bose Soundbar 500 and Soundbar 700 are very simple and elegant due to their thin, black design that will fit on your shelf. Even though you can control them the same way as the Home Speaker 500, the Soundbar 700 comes with an additional remote controller. Both feature HDMI ARC and you can mount them on the wall, or if you want even add them to a bass module and surround speakers. The prices are $550 and $800 respectively.

New Bose smart speaker and soundbars will be released during October 2018. Even though they will be sold initially with Alexa integrated into them, during software updates predicted for the following year, the company announced there will be other voice assistants added, and even the latest AirPlay 2.
