R5 Neckband Headphones by Klipsch have leather neckband

A lot of companies that manufacture headphones are trying different materials that can be used to create their own unique product. We have already seen 3D printed headphones out of liquid resin, and several designs that incorporate wood, but Klipsch has decided to go in a different direction and use leather for their new Klipsch R5 Neckband headphones.

The new headphones by Klipsch are, of course, wireless but not completely wire-free as they do have a neckband that is designed to sit comfortably on your neck and even tuck in under your collar. R5 Neckband headphones use Bluetooth 4.0 version to connect to your smart device, either smartphone or tablet, and work on up to 10-meter range. They are compatible with both Apple and Android devices.

As mentioned, what makes the R5 Neckband headphones stand out on the market is that they are not using plastic but rather genuine hand-stitched leather that is meant to last for a long time without drastic wearing off. This features also adds up to the sophistication of the headphones, but they are not only designed to look nice but also to sit on your neck and ear comfortably throughout the day. The ear tips are very soft, oval in shape and made out of silicone and adapt to your ear for even more comfort while you enjoy Klipsch legendary sound.

The neckband of the R5 Neckband headphones contains on one side the remote that has 3 buttons using which you can control phone calls and music playback. The other side is designed to alert you in case of a phone call using slight vibrations which would decrease the chance of you missing out on it while listening to music. The neckband also contains a noise-canceling microphone that will automatically reduce any surrounding noise allowing you to have a clear voice during a phone call.

Talking about the battery, Klipsch has taken care of the matter by giving their R5 Neckband headphones up to 8 hours of playback time. They use micro USB to charge so it will be convenient for you to charge them anywhere. Furthermore, as they are always in contact with your skin, they also have the IPX4 rating making them both sweat and splash-proof resistant.

The R5 Neckband headphones are currently available in black leather color, but soon Klipsch is releasing the brown leather version as well. The price of the R5 headphones is $199.
