Samsung Announces Its Q Series Soundbar 2021 Range

Samsung announced today its new soundbar lineup for 2021. The Korean giant is upgrading its Q range of soundbars with the flagship Samsung Q950A soundbar, the first 11.1.4 channel soundbar developed by Samsung.

The Q950A setup includes the main soundbar unit, a wireless subwoofer, and 2 9500s wireless surround speakers. The 9500s speakers boast two drivers each, one side-firing and the other is an upward-firing driver.

Owners of previous Samsung soundbars can purchase the two wireless surround speakers separately as they can serve as a 2.0.2 wireless surround upgrade to any other Samsung sound system. Two surround sound speakers are essential as the Samsung Q950A soundbar features both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound technologies.

The new soundbar is packed with features, but perhaps the one that stands out is the Space Fit Sound feature that works if you have a Samsung TV. The sound system will automatically adjust your settings after listening to your acoustic environment through the TV’s microphone. In case you don’t have a Samsung TV, audio optimization will still be available through the subwoofer’s own built-in microphone that features Space EQ which will set up your EQ setting based on the surrounding environment.

The new Samsung Q950A soundbar will support AirPlay 2 for the first time, which will allow iPhone users to stream content from their iPhones with a few taps. Another great feature is Tap Sound, allowing users to tap their mobile device to the soundbar to play content. The Q950A will work with multiple voice assistants, including Amazon Alexa and Samsung’s own Bixby.

All the Q Series soundbar lineup will have a new Q-Symphony technology which works only with Samsung TVs. This feature will sync audio between the soundbar and the TV, adding to the 3-dimensional surround sound experience.

While the Q950A is the flagship, Samsung is also upgrading other Q series soundbars, including the Q600A, Q700A, Q800A, and Q900A.

There is still no information on pricing or release date, but we can expect the Q950A to be in the $1500 range.
