The Stadia Controller Is The New Google Gamepad

Today at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Google has announced its first ever step into the gaming sector of entertainment by revealing its first cloud-based gaming platform, Google Stadia. Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google has explained it as a platform designed for everyone and accessible from a variety of devices. The launch is expected to happen sometime this year for US, Canadian, UK, and European users.

Alongside the new gaming service, Google unveiled its new gaming controller, the Stadia Controller. The new controller looks just like any other DualShock controller with its two twin sticks, D-pad, and a bunch of face and shoulder buttons. What makes it a unique controller is a sharing button, a Google Assistant button that you can use to some game hints from your Google Assistant once you’re stuck in a game, and the Home button that features the new Stadia logo.

The Stadia Controller will connect directly to the data center according to Google, meaning that it will eliminate any lagging issues. Google Stadia will also support any other gamepad that you choose to use, but having a Stadia Controller will get you “the best of Stadia” according to Google.

There are still no words on when the new gamepad will be available, or how much does it cost beside late in 2019.
