Samsung TVs

Samsung Sero

Samsung Sero

Samsung added a new product to its TV range and it is quite unusual compared to other ones. Samsung Sero is designed and aimed at millennials that rely on using phone content quite a lot which is why the new TV can be rotated completely vertically in order to be compatible with more versatile content.

The reason why Sero TV can be rotated vertically is to be more compatible for projections of smartphone content which is usually not in a horizontal position. This means that young people won’t only use the TV for series and movies, but also for Instagram, Facebook or any other social media.

With the 43-inch screen combined with a 4.1-channel and 60W speakers, it is a quite versatile living room device. It can even be used as a picture frame when not used, and it also provides assistance from Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant. The TV is already available for $1,600 on the company’s website.

Samsung Tablets

Galaxy Tab S6

Galaxy Tab S6

The latest tablet by Samsung has taken the spotlight at the beginning of August when the company announced Galaxy Tab S6. Being the latest addition of the 2-in-1 tablet family, this device can serve as both laptop and tablet and it comes with quite a few improvements you might be excited for.

Some of the features include a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6/8 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB RAM, microSD slot and a 15 hours of battery life at a single charge. The main camera is 13 megapixels, combined with a 5-megapixels wide-angle lens on the back, while the front lens counts 8 megapixels. Tab S6 runs on Samsung’s One UI.

When it comes to design, Tab S6 looks relatively similar to its predecessor with a 10.5-inch AMOLED display. It also features an in-display fingerprint reader and on the backside of its aluminum body, an LTE antenna, dual-camera and an S-Pen indent. Furthermore, it features a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, and USB-C charging port that can be used for headphones as well.

Quickly regarding the compatible accessories, the new S-Pen can be used as a remote control for the tablet using Bluetooth, allowing you to take photos, videos and even scroll through media at up to 10 meter away from the device. The compatible keyboard is now a two-piece model that makes it more convenient to use as a stand and a keyboard even separately.

The device will be available in stores starting September 6th for the starting price of $649 while the LTE model will be released by the end of the year for a bit higher price.

Samsung Soundbars

Samsung Soundbar Q

Samsung has announced two new soundbars as a part of its Q Series lineup: the HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R, as a result of a collaboration between Samsung Audio Lan and Harman Kardon. The soundbars offer an immersive surround sound experience, as well as Adaptive Sound and Acoustic Beam technologies. This allows the soundbars to analyze the content played on the TV and adjust the sound given the scene, as well as to create a panoramic soundscape.

Even though they are not compatible with WiFi, you can still use Bluetooth and connect devices using that option for other devices besides the TV. Both sound bars feature Dolby Atmos sound, but only Q70S features DTS:X 360-degree surround sound technology. The prices of the Q-series soundbars are $800 and $1000 respectively.

Galaxy Home Mini

Galaxy Home Mini

During the third quarter of 2018, Samsung announced its new Galaxy Home smart speaker but only a couple of months later rumors started going around that there is going to be a “Mini” version as well. Expected to compete with Google Home Mini and Amazon Echo Dot, Galaxy Home Mini. Over half a year later, the company officially admitted that the speaker is getting into beta testing in August 2019, but did not really reveal more details about it. This means we will have to wait for the official announcement to find out more about the device and its features, and how exactly the company is planning on competing with numerous other smart speakers that are storming the wireless home speaker market lately.

Voice Assistant Bixby

Even though Apple and Google are most known for their voice assistants, Samsung has been slowly working on creating its own powerful rival that will provide Samsung users with the necessary help. Named Bixby, it allows Samsung users to use the full potential of their Galaxy smartphones but it is also present in other Samsung devices including soundbars and smart speakers. It can identify things through the camera, get wanted information, translate and go with you through pre-set rituals. Over time, it learns and adapts to you personal preferences meaning it will be able to help you, even more, the more you use it.

You can access the assistant through the Bixby button, smart assistant icon at the home screen, keyboard shortcut or by simply saying “Hi Bixby”. It is offered in English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish language. Being created by Samsung, Bixby is exclusively available on Samsung Galaxy phones. Currently, that list includes Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, Note 10, Note 10+, Note 9, S9, S9+, Note 8, S8, and S8+.
