  • Five filters for PCM files
  • MQA Decoder

TEAC, the US specialist in audio devices, announced three new devices of small size amplifiers suitable for small spaces, giving users many options to choose among them.

The first release is the TEAC UD-505, an amplifier that supports high-resolution audio, ,has USB DAC inputs, and a headphone jack. It is compatible with audio files that reach up to DSD512 and 32-bit/768kHz PCM. It can also convert low-resolution files to DSD (24.5MHz) and PCM (32-bit/384kHz) files.

This version contains five filters for PCM files, two for DSD and a top-level DAC for left and right channels. As well as support for AptX HD and LDAC technologies via Bluetooth.

The UD-505 can be adjusted to 44.1kHz or 48kHz frequencies, so precise acceleration helps in reducing the digital error rate to as little as possible.

The device is designed with the help of Esoteric engineers, where a 10MHz crystal oscillator is used to help reduce temperature variations that can affect performance.

The second version of the TEAC trio is the TEAC NT-505 online music player, available at £1500.

This version has the ability to decode MQA – and that after getting an update to the firmware – which means that the user will be able to enjoy high-Definition music through services such as Tidal and Qobuz.

The TEAD NT-505 also has a built-in subwoofer for headphones. It is similar to the UD-505, in terms of supporting files, filters and Bluetooth connectivity.
