Turn any surface into a touchscreen using this innovative device

Why buy a screen when you can turn any surface into one?

T1S is a new computer by Typlet, powered by Andriod or Windows operating system, this device can turn any surface into a screen using its image projector, it also allows touch input on that projected screen using a grid of infrared sensors.

This device will be available in two versions, one powered by Android OS and the other is powered by Windows. this expected price of this device will be somewhere around 700$.

In CES this year, Typlet showed a working prototype of the device with Android installed and it was quite what we expected.

The prototype showed at CES was running Android and it was used to play a fish game and write on Androids’ virtual keyboard.

The projected square display had an 854 x 480 resolution, which is pretty modest but still delivers good picture quality. The projection had a size of 14″ when used on a table, and it reached up to a 90″ size while used on a wall.

Sadly, you can’t use the touch input using your fingers directly while projecting the screen on a vertical surface like a wall, because the infrared sensors are positioned in the base of the device, anyhow the company has solved this by providing a wireless pen that works on such surfaces.

Another problem is that the device does not support by any means multi-touch input.

This device opens up many possibilities for future uses of similar technologies, especially in business and education presentations where the presenter can interact with the slideshow using a wireless pen instead of a remote.

Typlet did not say much about the details of this device like what CPU would it use but they revealed that it will be available in two versions, one powered by Andriod and the other by Windows.

They also talked about a cheaper version; the T2 wich only comes as a projector and its touch sensors, and you’ll have to connect your own computer to use it. The T2 will be available for 400$.

This device looks interesting for now but it still needs more than just that to convince buyers.
