New Pioneer S9 headphones are optimized for Google Assistant

Onkyo and Pioneer have finally announced their newest addition to the Scene Style Series of headphones. The new Pioneer S9 headphones will hold many great features including optimization for Google Assistant as well as high-resolution audio, all held together in a retro-modern housing of a pair of wireless over the ear headphones, putting them among the premium products of this Pioneer series.

The S9 headphones can be used for listening to music and hands-free phone calls as they have an integrated microphone. The buttons on the cups allow simple control over volume, track playing, and calls. One of the buttons serves for Google Assistant recall which by pressing it immediately starts a conversation with the voice assistant.

As mentioned, the S9 headphones are optimized for Google Assistant. This brings a lot of additional features to the headphones including entertainments, information access, notifications and messages alerts, reminders, etc. all without having to even take a look on the phone screen itself.

To support the dynamic range of High-Resolution Audio reproduction, the S9 headphones feature 1.57- inch rare earth magnet drivers which provide excellent bass and very wide frequency response. The Copper-Clad Aluminum Wire (CCAW) provides clean and accurate sound adding to the deep bass and clear highs. These headphones have support for AAC and Qualcomm aptX codecs, but also Qualcomm aptX HD audio codec, that provides HQ audio on the headphones even when connected wirelessly.

The S9 headphones also feature active noise-canceling technology that allows listening without being distracted by noise from the environment. Of course, as there are some situations where full noise cancellation is not preferable so there is also the Awareness Mode that improves the situation by allowing some outside sound to be heard.

Besides the standard Bluetooth technology, they also allow NFC function for instant pairing with any smart device. The Multi-Point Function allows two smartphones to be connected to the headphones at the same time. The maximum battery life of the new Pioneer S9 headphones is expected to be up to 27 hours of playback time, but the cable is still preferred in case of High-Resolution output with any audio component.

As the case is with other Pioneer headphones, S9 work with the exclusive Pioneer Headphone App that allows easy control over some features, such as control over Bluetooth pairing and noise mode management. Pioneer is planning to add more functions to the app through future updates, especially focusing on music lovers. Keep in mind that the app works only when the headphones are connected to the device wirelessly.

The design is focused on the comfort of the user. The cushioned headband is covered in leather making it comfortable on the head, while the sliding hangers allow further adjustment for each user. The earcups surround the whole ear and are aligned with the head making them comfortable even after long period of use.

The Pioneer S9 headphones are still not available but will be released for sale by the end of the month of November. The color options are black with black detailing or brown with gold detailing. The expected price will be around $260.
