Android Auto update finally brings YouTube Music

Android Auto appears in news again with a well-expected announcement. YouTube Music was one of the most desired updates so far and Google is finally adding the in-car support. Until now, it was possible to manually control the app on the phone and play music while being connected to the car, but Android Auto 3.03 update will from now on allow the use of YouTube Music directly through the Android Auto interface.

Switching to YouTube Music from already setup music player is very simple. By opening the music tab and tapping it again, the source selector will appear with all available music sources listed, among them being YouTube Music. Keep in mind that, as the list is in alphabetical order, it will appear at the very end of the list. When selected, the YouTube Music navigation menu in the interface offers five different options: Downloads, Library, Your Mixtape, Last Played and Recommended, which contains a list of general recommendations or playlists based on the users listening habits.

Many users have been waiting in anticipation for this updated as the last criteria in order to switch to this in-car interface, but YouTube Music on Android Auto is still missing quite a few features. Unfortunately, it is still unknown whether they will appear as a part of a future update or not.
