Take Zulu wearable speakers with you on your next run

We have previously looked at the best headphones and earphones for running and exercising, but even the wireless headphones do not cover some demand. In case if you do not want anything to cover your ears while you are on the run, it is bordering impossible to find a device that will play music for your without having to actually carry a speaker in your hand. There are some headphones that use a bone-conducting technique, as well as tiny Bluetooth speakers that clip on your clothes, but this often comes at a cost of sound quality. Zulu Audio designed their Zulu wearable speakers that use magnets to hold on to you and keep you company on the go.

The main idea behind Zulu wearable speakers is that they do not compromise your safety while you are on a run, or even just walking around the city, as wearing ear covering headphones can reduce your awareness of the surrounding. They are intended to sit on your shoulders and send the sound directly to your ears so even when you do not turn them to the maximum volume, you will hear your music well. Due to the specific positioning of the two speakers like in the stereo setups, you will get a more immersive sound than you would if you just attach another portable speaker to your bag.

The way the Zulu wearable speakers are attached to you is using very thin but strong magnets that attach through your clothes to the speakers, making them attached to your clothes securely without a chance of losing them while you run. And you do not have to worry if you run in colder weather, they work with jackets too. They are also IPX4 rated meaning that they are sweat proof and splash proof and will not be damaged if you sweat or it just starts raining.

Talking about the design, the Zulu wearable speakers are basically two small circular speakers attached by an adjustable wire that goes behind your shoulders. They are very lightweight, less than 100 grams, making it very convenient to have them so close to you without pulling down your shirt. On the device itself, there is a microphone located which you can use to talk over the phone, as well as buttons using which you can control audio volume and answer the calls, as well as pause or play the music.

When it comes to connectivity, these speakers are not that demanding. In order to connect Zulu wearable speakers to any device, all you need to have is Bluetooth 4.1 version at least, and you are free to play music, videos, and podcasts. One of the best features of these speakers is that the range at which they operate using Bluetooth connectivity is up to 30 meters, more than what we can see on most wireless headphones. They will serve you for up to 6 hours after which you will have to charge them.

The Zulu wearable speakers were at first shared with the public on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter, but now you can purchase them at Zulu Audio website for $100. You get the option to choose between the black or white color of your speakers and receive a magnetic carrying case to store your speakers when you are not using them.
