LG unveils TONE Free T90, T60, Fit TF8, and Fit TF7 earbuds: Everything you need to know!
The new lineup of LG’s earbuds for 2022 has finally arrived. The company announced today its latest hit to the market with four new models; the Tone Free T90, T90, Fit TF7, and TF8; all feature the latest and most innovative technologies from the South Korean manufacturer in terms of both audio and build quality. These are not the only sets LG launched this year, as we’ve already seen the Tone Free FP3, FP5, and FP9 in March. Here’s everything you need to know about LG’s new earbuds.

The T90 represents the top model and is the one that gets the best features, with improved ergonomics and better audio quality due to the use of graphene, which helps reduce the vibrations and feedback, resulting in a richer and more balanced output with a larger dynamic driver. The T90 also uses Meridian Headphone Spatial Processing (HSP) technology from Meridian Audio, giving it a considerable advantage in imaging and clarity.
According to LG, the Tone Free T90 is the first wireless earbuds ever to support Dolby Head Tracking technology, which should give a more immersive and pleasant listening experience, or as the company describes it:
“Dolby Head Tracking recalibrates the sound as users move their heads for a more natural sound experience. Listeners will feel like they are in the center of the scene and experience a whole new level of audio immersion whether they are listening to music, watching movies, enjoying favorite streaming series or playing video games.”
Dolby magic continues in the Tone Free T90, with the new flagship earbuds featuring the first audio virtualizer from the brand, made “specifically for earbuds.” That addition put the T90 among other competitors with similar features, like the AirPods and Beats with Spatial Audio, and the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro with Dolby 360, and not to forget the upcoming Pixel Buds Pro from Google.
LG gave special attention to call quality with a unique Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) that “detects and minimizes ambient noises when the user is speaking.” The T90 also comes with a UVnano charging case, which uses UV-C light to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria on the earbuds during charging time. The case itself can also function as a Bluetooth transmitter, so you can stream audio from sources that don’t have wireless connectivity, like radios.
The Tone Free T60 is basically a trimmed-down version of the T90, but not with serious compromises. It features the same driver and supports the same Meridian Audio technology, but it lacks Dolby Head Tracking abilities, and that is not a big deal if you consider the price difference.
LG’s new mid-range earbuds support ANC but without the Real-Time Optimizer found in the T90 model. However, the T60 also comes with a UVnano charging case with all its quirks, except for the wireless charging and the transmitter feature. Battery life is the same, and so are the “medical-grade, hypoallergenic ear gels to provide a comfortable fit and help prevent irritation.”

Another two models from LG, the TONE Free Fit TF7 and TF8, but are designed for workout and fitness activities, with a mini-hock shape that keeps the earbuds sturdy placed in your ears. Both the TF7 and TF8 have similar specs and share many features, like Meridian Audio, ANC, IP67 rating, UVnano charging case, medical-grade, hypoallergenic ear gels, and also the battery life. The main difference between the two is the Plug & Wireless feature in the upper TF8 model.
