iBasso Introduces IT01 Graphene IEM

iBasso have given us a number of interesting audio products over the last few years. Their DX80 was a really great DAP at the time, and their IT03 IEMs have received high praises as well. Now, iBasso have introduced their IT01 IEM which features a graphene driver.

IT01 Graphene goodness

The IT01 features a 10mm dynamic driver which has a multi-layered graphene diaphragm measuring a mere 5µm thick. Graphene is composed of carbon atoms, resulting in a hardness which is 100 times that of steel. Ordinary diaphragms needs multiple attenuation of the signal to ensure that the diaphragm itself is not broken, whereas graphene can better restore the current signal, whilst achieving lower levels of distortion. Such a thin diaphragm results in a very low weight, which translates to a greater and faster level of reaction to a change in applied current to the driver.

The removable 4N OFC (Oxygen-free Copper) cable sports MMCX connectors, and has a total length of 1.2m including the 3.5mm gold-plated plug

iBasso have also managed to extract a very wide frequency response for the IT01, with measurable responses between 10 to 42kHz. The dual cavity tuning also features unique Helmholtz resonators to give deep, powerful lows.

In terms of accessories, the IT01 comes shipped with a metal storage/carrying case, 3 pairs of silicone eartips, and 2 pairs of foam eartips.

iBasso have also stated that the IT01 will be available in a blue and red combo, as well as in an all-black colour scheme as well.

Price

iBasso have stated that the MSRP for the IT01 is to be at the $99 mark, which will put them head-to-head against the ridiculously good Fiio F9 (you can read our review of the F9 here). As the IT01 starts to go on sale in the next few weeks, keep an eye out for reviews.
