Concept 1 earbuds price and features announced

Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus who left the company only to announce his own tech startup called Nothing in January this year, has soon after announced its own pair of wireless headphones as the company’s first product. Since then, more details have been revealed about the name, the housing, and now we even know the price and some of the features of Concept 1 buds!

Concept 1 earbuds have the exposed transparent housing that resembles the trend in the 80s when many companies opted for a “clear” housing design for their tech products. However, although the company claims this type of housing is more expensive than the more common options seen on the market,  the buds are still expected to be significantly cheaper than Apple’s AirPods while still maintaining the more out-of-the-box approach.

Besides the very exposed and unusual transparent housing, we also know that the new Concept 1 wireless earbuds are going to have an Active Noise Cancellation feature. Unfortunately, although the housing and a few features have been revealed, there is a lot that we are unfamiliar with including the battery life which can be a detrimental feature when choosing your next pair of wireless earbuds. We are also excited to see whether Nothing will add any other useful features, perhaps some level of water resistance.

According to Carl Pei, the new Nothing Concept 1 buds are going to officially launch on the 27th of July with the already announced $99 price tag. They will mostly be available for online sale, which not only decreases the final retail price but also makes them available to a larger audience.
