FiiO Announces LC-RE Replacement IEM Cable

FiiO’s long list of products also incldes numerous accessories such as Bluetooth remote controls, cases, and even replacement IEM cables. Recently, FiiO announced the addition of the LC-RE cable, which is their most premium offering thus far.

At the heart of the product, the LC-RE is a cable which features a hybrid-construction in the sense of having more than one type of metal used. In this case, FiiO have opted for pure crystal copper, gold-plated pure crystal copper, as well as pure silver cables.
However, this isn’t the only aspect of the LC-RE which is a little different to your usual ‘run-of-the-mill’ IEM cable because this one is modular of sorts.
Usually, if you want to use your headphones with different types of outputs (i.e. 3.5mm or 2.5mm) you’d have to use different adaptors, but with the LC-RE there’s no need for that…sort of.Rather than having to resort to adapters, almost the entire headphone connector on the LC-RE unscrews, so instead of adding bulk with adapters, the jack is simply replaced.
FiiO includes a regular 3.5mm single-ended jack, as well as balanced-connection jacks of both a 2.5mm and 4.4mm Pentaconn sizes.

With FiiO’s most recent addition to their IEM lineup (the FH1s), they’ve also opted to use a 0.78mm two-pin connector on the IEM housing, rather than using the MMCX connector which has been their default for each of their IEMs thus far. As such, it would make sense for FiiO to create their replacement cables to accommodate both two-pin as well as MMCX connections, and that’s exactly what they’ve done with the LC-RE.
When ordering, you will have the choice of getting the cable terminated with either a two-pin connection or an MMCX connection.
