Grado Hemp are Grado’s new limited edition headphones

Grado has been known for its well-performing, high-quality headphones which are occasionally built out of quite strange materials thanks to the never-ending experimentation with different materials and types of wood. This time, the limited edition model is called Grado Hemp and it is a pair of headphones made out of hemp. Here is what they offer.

Starting with the design, Hemp headphones are hand-built in Brooklyn and combine hemp and maple wood for the housing. Hemp wood gives them an interesting marble-like light wood pattern which really pops with the black details and a black leather headband. It is important to note that, for the sake of performance, this open-back pair of headphones are wired.

These headphones particularly shine when it comes to their internals as it delivers the signature Grado sound present in their most valued devices. Thanks to the density of hemp wood, it is easier to achieve the full sound that is always a priority but this also required adjusting other internals to support the material, including special tuning of the drivers. The addition of maple wood further balances the sound making it an extremely pleasant listening experience.

At the moment, you are able to pre-order Grado Hemp headphones from the company’s official website for $420. The shipping is expected to start as of late June.
