Linn Series 3 Is Company’s First Wireless Hi-Fi Speaker
Linn is one of the hi-fi brands that were among the first to have been associated with music streaming, but it wasn’t until now that the company released a wireless speaker. Linn Series 3 is the first of its kind for the company, with an attractive and yet simple design, but all of that comes at a price.
It is worth noting that it is not only the first wireless speaker by Linn, but it is also the first that does not require any installation as it only needs to be plugged in in order to play desired music. When it comes to the design, the shape very much resembles the top of the wine glass. The housing is white but the thin frame around the grill in front can be in either Chrome or Gold colorway, depending on your preference.
The speaker is based on Linn’s streaming platform and it allows users access to different hi-res streaming services including Tidal and Qobuz, but also Apple AirPlay and Spotify. It has Bluetooth, of course, meaning you can play music from any device nearby. Furthermore, it has an HDMI port that allows you to connect it to your TV and enjoy the movies even more.
Linn Series 3 relies on Exakt technology which significantly affects the speaker’s performance by avoiding degradation of the music and combining frequencies to reduce any phase errors. The Exakt port also allows you to connect the speaker with another Series 3 speaker for a stereo pair.
The two speakers can be brought together in a bundle while a single Series 3 speaker is available for around $3100 exclusively in Harrods, but it will be available to other retailers sometime next year.
