Marantz SR-Series 2020 Of AV Receivers Support 8K
Marantz is becoming the latest brand to launch AV receivers with 8K support by launching its 2020 line-up of AV amplifiers that include 4 different high receivers starting with the 7-channel SR5015, the 9-channel SR6015 and SR7015, and the flagship 11-channel SR8015. All of the new Marantz SR-Series AV receivers feature an HDMI input that supports 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video pass-through.
Although there isn’t enough 8K content out there, all four new Marantz SR-Series AV receivers can upscale HD and 4K content to 8K resolution. They also support Dolby Vision, Dynamic HDR, HLG, and HDR10. The three top receivers in the line are also IMAX Enhanced certified.
The 8K/60Hz pass-through is not the only HDMI feature supported here, other features within the HDMI 2.1 specification are also supported such as HDMI eARC that allows the transmission of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X from TV apps or connected devices using a single HDMI cable.

The new Marantz SR-Series AV receivers have a few gaming features such as Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Quick Frame Transport (QFT), as well as Variable Refresh Rate which is a new feature aiming to reduce frame tearing during gaming. Quick Media Switching (QMS) is another new feature that allows a quick switch of frame rate in order to eliminate screen blackouts.
While both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are supported across the whole line-up, the SR7015 and SR8015 also support Auro 3D. The support for Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology and DTS Virtual:X modes will create an increased sense of height from speaker set-ups that don’t have dedicated height speakers.
The Marantz SR7015 will be available in August for a price tag of €1699, while the SR5015 (€899), SR6015 (€1199) and SR8015 (€2999) will be available later in September.
