Metro Exodus Review – Great Graphics and Storyline

Metro Exodus is a road trip beyond the end of the world. It passes through Russia that has been hit by a nuclear disaster and has become one of the deserted regions. Even with the blue sky and some tools that you can get to clear the air from the remnants of radiation, survival is still a daily struggle in the world of Metro. After moving away from the dark tunnels to the surface of Moscow that is trying to survive, going into the unknown, and forcing you to stop at stations you do not want to stop in, the developing studio of Metro Exodus created an unforgettable interactive adventure, consisting of happiness when discovering new areas and walking through cities, and grief over the lost chances of survival that will never be replaced while keeping the hope for a better future.

We can call Metro Exodus the distorted mirror that reveals to us the worst sins of the human race, through the spirit of cities that still exist despite the destruction.

Metro Exodus Review – The Start

Your primary mode of transport in Metro Exodus is an old Soviet-era steam train called Aurora (Аврора) which will serve as a mobile base for players. The game starts in familiar surroundings; The ruins of shattered and radioactive Moscow and the maze of tunnels beneath. It won’t be long before you see the twilight from the ruins of the collapsing capital, and along the Volga River to the cold countryside. In general, this is the beginning and the first look you will take inside the open-world that Exodus presents to you, which consists of several large areas that stand separately on their own, rather than one continuous extension.

While previous Metro games have taken place in the underground railroad system, this time Metro Exodus takes players to the surface as protagonist Artyom and his fellow soldiers – including his wife Anna and her father Miller – chart a specific path to cross across radioactive Russia on the Aurora train. Their journey begins during the spring and extends into the depths of winter, and every season takes us to a whole new area.

Metro Exodus

There are many large maps in the game, we are talking about the Volga River and the Caspian Sea, which is the largest inland water body in the world, these maps are full of side tours that would surprise you. There are also Taiga autumn forests that take us into a sightseeing tour through the impressive graphics of the game. You will enjoy this game the most during the exploration of the wilderness after a disaster, these beautifully painted places that make you feel that they have infiltrated the game is one way or another, since these scenes are not usually seen in cities, you can say Metro Exodus’ ability to show us both ruined cities and scenic nature in the same game is what makes it one of the most enjoyable open-world games.

Metro Exodus looks like a distinctive simulation and an improved version of Fallout, there are fun maps that you can explore, while a special effort was made by the developing studio to make these areas interesting, and exciting for players, without moving away from the main storyline that will not push players to explore every corner of the map. This is what characterizes open-world games, which gives players the option to explore the map as much as they want to, making every experience different from the other.

It’s the best version of Metro

Exodus is the best game from the Metro series, there is a mixture of huge areas to explore within the large map that the game offers, and each of these areas has a unique charm that gives players a look at what it might look like if the world actually ends. When it comes to the story, the game touch is you in the way you interact with the world through your exploration of the stories buried in ruins. Speaking of the story, although it will sound somewhat ridiculous at first; it completely adapts to the characters and narration, turning into an exciting journey.

Metro Exodus

Previously, the Metro series did not provide this distinct storytelling as is the case with Exodus. Although the game didn’t deviate much from the main content of other Metro games, the developing studio, 4A Games surpassed itself, providing fans of the series with a distinctive title that is worth the wait.

And the fast-paced combat type can be a good thing in-game, especially when you start modifying weapons, and converting small guns into weapons of mass destruction. But whether you are fighting mutants or humans, you won’t find any difficulties beating them, which might make fighting somewhat boring, at a time when constantly searching for ammo will be a chore. In fact, the weapons look great in Exodus. There are some new techniques in the way weapons work, such as the ability in which you can strip enemy weapons and attach the parts that were taken to the weapons you already have.

Despite the fact that combat and fighting are not the best in the game, the one thing that makes Metro Exodus special is the storyline and journey that it will take you through. After taking the game from the tunnels and out onto the surface, the design team within 4A Games was able to do an amazing job. The artistic scenery that you will see during your long journey will definitely catch your eye with all the beauty and charm it offers. Many games have tried to introduce the world after a nuclear war, but there is something special about Metro Exodus that gave us the frightening, real concept of what life after such wars might look like.
