Microsoft announces Surface Laptop 2, with a new black finish

About this time last year, Microsoft announced the first Surface laptop, it was quite a surprise. The original laptop had a lot of good features, but at the same time it lacked a lot of things. The standard version had only 4GB of RAM, and a USB 3.0 port without a USB Type-C port. However, Microsoft is now announcing the second generation of the Surface laptop, the Surface Laptop 2, an updated version where the tech giant tried to fix some things.

With twice as much RAM as the older version, Microsoft claims that the Surface Laptop 2 is about 85% faster than its predecessor. Another thing that was updated is the processor. Microsoft is updating the laptop with the 8th Gen Intel processor. Besides that, there are no changes. The new Surface Laptop 2 has a 13.5 inch display with a 2256 x 1504 resolution just like its predecessor. Storage still starts at 128 GB SSD and goes up to 1TB. Battery life is estimated to be 14.5 hours of video playback, and when it comes to ports, they are still limited to a single USB 3.0 and Mini DisplayPort, even though USB Type-C is becoming the standard, Microsoft has decided to live for another year without any.
