Pioneer DJ’s CDJ-2000NXS2 new firmware update 1.6

Last month, Pioneer DJ released a new firmware update for their CDJ-2000NXS2 featuring user requested fixes and some interesting new features. Here You’ll find everything you need to know about this new update.

FIXES

In the previous firmware version, the device had many glitches that affected bootup, this update had that problem fixed, plus fixing the other issue with slip mode’s hot cue – a feature the allows you to add loops and scratches while playing the original track.

NEW FEATURES

  • A new Auto Beat loop allowing the loop of 3, 6, 9 or 12 beats, this can be activated by pressing and holding the Loop Mode button for more than 1 second.
  • The ability to beat jump 8 more beats both forwards or backward, which sadly is only available when DDJ-SP1 is connected to the device with no obvious reason.

Pioneer DJ started to feel the fire of competition reaching their tails with Denon DJ’s new S5000 Prime. And this will hopefully mean Pioneer will be more active in terms of firmware updates if they plan to step up to the challenge, adding features through firmware updates for current users without having them buy new hardware may actually stop many users from switching to Denon DJ’s new DJ kits.

You can download the new firmware from the official Pioneer website
