The Rode NT-USB Mini Is Rode’s Take On The Yeti Nano
Podcasts became very popular in the past few years, and the reason for that is that they are easy to make, all you need is a microphone. For a while now the dominant microphone for podcasters has been the Blue Yeti USB microphone or the Blue Yeti Nano microphone, but Røde is planning to change that with the release of the Rode NT-USB Mini.
What Rode did was taking their NT-USB microphone, and shrinking it in size while maintaining the audio quality, and taking into consideration the need for controls. Rode tried to minimize the interface of this new mic as much as possible. In the front, you can find a dial to adjusts the headphone level, while the rear side has a USB-C and 3.5mm headphone.
This new microphone is made of “hard-wearing steel and reinforced nylon resin” which should make it strong enough to be portable or on-the-go mic.
The NT-USB Mini features a built-in pop filter and it’s class-compliant which means that it would work with any device when connected via USB-C without any drivers or additional apps.
The Rode NT-USB Mini is available for sale in the US for $99 only.
