New Rotel Hi-Fi Devices In Tribute To Ken Ishiwata

After launching the Michi X3 and X5 integrated amplifiers, Rotel is now launching a special edition of its the Rotel A11 Tribute integrated amplifier and the CD11Tribute CD player in collaboration with the late audio legend Ken Ishiwata who was one of the most influential people in the audio industry.

The Tribute CD player and integrated amplifier feature some changes when it comes to their specification as well as their external classic design in order to increase resonance damping which was Ishiwata’s vision.

Rotel is upgrading most of the components of the Rotel A11 Tribute including six capacitors in the preamp path, and all of the capacitors in the volume stage. This means that all 10 capacitors in the A11 amp were upgraded, as well as two resistors to ensure higher performance in the signal path. Custom dampening materials have been added to the A11 Tribute to reduce internal vibration.

On the other hand, the CD11 Tribute has gotten similar upgrades, Rotel upgraded 8 capacitors, as well as 1 resistor. Custom dampening materials were also added to the body of the CD11 to reduce vibrations.

As we mentioned earlier, both devices were designed by the late Ken Ishiwata who passed away before the completion of the devices, but Rotel went through with the specification he chose and built the devices with the help of Ishiwata’s friend and audio designer Karl-Heinz Fink.

The A11 Tribute will cost $799, while the CD11 Tribute will sell for $599. Both devices will be available in the next couple of months. They will both ship with a Japanese inscription that translates to “Respect” in tribute to Ken Ishiwata.
