Sennheiser CES 2018: Three new products announced

Sennheiser announced three new products at CES 2018 and they surely weren’t aiming low with any of these. one of the three is an audiophile class closed-back headphones with a price tag of 2,399$, the others are the first soundbar ever made by Sennheiser and an In-Ear wireless headphones.

The Sennheiser HD 820: A one-of-a-kind closed-back headphone

These headphones are basically a closed-back version of the famous 800 S that was released a couple of ears ago. And with that big change, the HD 820 kept the same design elements as the previous, keeping the inner architecture visible through a Gorilla-Glass closing.

The glass barricade standing between your ears and the outer world isn’t just for show, it’s made with a special curving technique to minimize resonance and reflecting it to absorption chambers inside the ear cup. This makes it “the most transparent-sounding closed-back headphones in the world” as Axel Grell, Sennheiser’s longtime chief headphones engineer would like to put it.

More from CES 2018: HyperX Cloud Flight headset might be the best wireless gaming solution so far

The headphones also offer ear pads made from a mix of synthetic leather and microfiber different than the older S 800. The headphones also use 4.4mm Pentaconn balanced connections instead of the usual 3.5 mm audio plugs, which is said to give balanced audio for minimal distortion.

Depending on where you’re buying these bad boys from, you’ll be paying 2,399, whether we’re talking about USD or EUR. You can pre-order the headphones and check the full specs here.

The Ambeo 3D soundbar: A new comer to the Ambeo product line

Ambeo 3D surround sound technology is something that Sennheiser created to take Dolby Atmos up on a little challenge. This technology was first made commercially available with the Ambeo Smart Headset last spring, and it was seen as a success in many speaker prototypes, but never in a soundbar.

The soundbar shown at CES was only a prototype, but we’ll surly be hearing more about the Ambeo product line soon.

The In-Ear CX 6.00BT: Something affordable

These aptX Bluetooth supporting In-Ears are the most affordable thing on the Sennheiser menu for CES this year. Priced at 100$ these lovely In-Ears will let you connect to two devices at the same time, listen to music for 6 hours straight, with a full-charge time of 1.5 hours.

these In-Ears will also allow fast battery charging, Juicing the battery by a third will take about 10 minutes only on the fast charge mode, which is great. These In-Ears will make debut later this month. And you can buy them now from the Sennheiser store.

Sennheiser sure did a great job this year at CES, showing off some great different kinds of products, and there surly will be more to come in the upcoming months. Tune in with us for more CES 2018 news and updates, we’ll be covering all kinds of audio related news from there.
